"In my previous attempts at self-coaching, I used mainly intervals.icu and TrainerRoad and their "Ai" enhanced progression of their plans.  It didn't work well for me.  I peaked months too early, watched my fitness slip throughout the race season… I really felt a bit lost in how to go about preparing for 2025.”

Would you recommend Patrick/Grit City Health? “Absolutely!  I was afraid to work with a coach for fear of making my training feel even harder, and disappointing someone else, in addition to myself, if I didn't live up to expectations.   Working with Patrick is the opposite.  He's super friendly and basis training around your life-- not the other way around.  The plan he created for me works well with my everyday life, is specifically tailored to the types of events I enter.  The flexibility built into his coaching is fantastic, too-- I can work around vacation time, take time off, change my calendar, etc, and we can always make it work.  The suggested workouts push my limits, but then the rest periods are right where they need to be.  It's so much better to have Patrick that a) knows you, b) knows the area and events, and c) listens to your feedback instead of trying to do it solo.  It's been the best money I've spent on any kind of training aid or bike/performance upgrade.
