A Community for Every Rider & Runner

At Team Grit City Health, we’re all about building community, sharing the joy of cycling and running, all while supporting each other every step of the way. Based in Tacoma, Washington, with members across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, our team is open to anyone—from first-time riders, casual runners, to seasoned racers. Whether you’re tackling your first trail or pushing hard on race day, we’re here to help you enjoy the ride, connect with others, and celebrate your journey on and off the bike.

Team Structure - Find Your Fit

Our team offers four levels, each with its own unique focus, so there’s something for everyone:

  • GCH Wheelers: For community riders looking to enjoy casual rides, social events, and the occasional race. Perfect for those wanting a supportive, non-competitive cycling community.

  • GCH Dirt Team: Focused on gravel, mountain biking, Gran Fondos, and cyclocross events. Ideal for those seeking adventure, race prep tips, and representation on race day.

  • GCH CX Team: Dedicated to cyclocross racers tackling the full PNW 12-week season. Provides race-day support, team tents, hydration, and camaraderie.

  • GCH Runners: Welcomes runners of all abilities for trail or road running. Enjoy monthly group runs, build fitness, and prepare for events in a fun, community-focused setting.

  • Friends of Team GCH: Not officially part of Team GCH? No problem! We welcome riders from all teams to join us for group rides, races, and the camaraderie that comes with being part of our cycling community.

    We know some racing teams may not offer the same level of support or adventure, and we’re here to fill in the gaps. Whether you’re wearing your team’s kit or just want to ride with a group that’s all about the experience, you’re always welcome with us.

    If you find yourself looking for a more supportive team environment, we’d love to have you officially join Team GCH—but no pressure. Our rides are open to everyone who shares our passion for riding and racing.

Team Highlights & Achievements

We’re proud of what Team Grit City Health has accomplished, both on and off the racecourse.

  • Growth:
    This year, our team expanded to include over 20 riders and runners, strengthening our vibrant, supportive community.

  • Race Success:
    Multiple top-10 finishes at PNW gravel and cyclocross races, including several "overall series" podium finishes. We’re also proud to celebrate new racers who successfully completed their first cyclocross season.

  • Community Impact:
    We’ve hosted several team rides, fostering connections and supporting members in their cycling and running aspirations. Looking ahead, we’re scheduling more team events and launching open-to-the-public Team GCH Wheelers events to bring the wider community together.

Whether it’s a personal milestone or a team-wide achievement, every success counts at Team GCH!


Core Team Values and Principles

Every member of Team Grit City Health should agree with and uphold these core values:

We are committed to maintaining a team environment where individuals of all identities—including race, gender, gender identity, and religion—feel welcomed, respected, and supported. We stand for inclusivity and believe that everyone has a right to be a part of these sports and this community.

  • Support: Team members are encouraged to support one another and fellow cyclists/runners by offering help when they can or connecting them with teammates who can provide the necessary guidance. If you can help, do so—if not, point them to someone who can.

More Team Level Details…

GCH Wheelers: Community Riders

This is our open, community-focused group for anyone who loves to ride. No commitment is needed beyond showing up and sharing the ride. Wheelers have fun, explore the trails, and support each other in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. As a Wheeler, you’ll enjoy:

  • Casual group rides and skill-building sessions for all levels.

  • Social events like post-ride coffee and casual meetups.

  • A chance to represent Team GCH in the community—perfect for staying active, making friends, and enjoying every ride.


GCH Dirt Team: Competitive Events

The Dirt Team is for riders interested in racing and organized events like gravel and mountain biking. Dirt Team members represent Grit City Health at events and participate in group rides and race preparation. Although race-day support is more limited outside of cyclocross, Dirt Team members gain:

  • Access to race group rides and course pre-rides to sharpen skills and confidence.

  • Community and encouragement from teammates, helping you set and achieve personal goals in a supportive atmosphere.

GCH CX Team: Cyclocross Racers

Cyclocross racers benefit from a higher level of support due to the nature of the sport. The CX Team helps ensure you’re ready and equipped for each race during the demanding 12-week long season. With membership dues of just $50 per season, covering support for essential team resources, you get to race like a pro and leave the stress at home.

As part of the CX Team, you’ll have:

  • Race-Day Support: Team tents, bike rack, tools, and cleaning supplies ready for you to get the most out of your bike on race day. Hydration, electrolytes, and snacks—all you need to fuel those intense cyclocross races.

  • Dedicated event support and camaraderie from setup at dawn before the first race of the day to breakdown in the evening after the last race. We strive to make every race day a memorable experience.

GCH Runners: Community Running Group

For those who love running—or those who don’t yet know they love it—GCH Runners is a welcoming group that blends the camaraderie of our cycling team with a focus on road and trail running. Whether you're training for races, building fitness, or simply running for fun, GCH Runners offers a supportive environment for runners of all levels.

As a member, you’ll enjoy:

  • Monthly group runs on roads and trails, at a variety of paces, making it easy for runners of all abilities to join.

  • Race training support with group meetups and guidance for improving performance, whether you’re prepping for a 5K, marathon, or trail event.

  • Community gatherings for post-run coffee and conversations, fostering a friendly, encouraging space for runners in our team.
