How Are You Arriving Today?

Pre-Workout Questionaire

This page is here to help you make the most of the check-in card hanging on your wall, fridge, or pegboard. Whether you're heading out for a ride, a run, a workout, or simply navigating a busy day, this quick moment of reflection can guide you toward more aligned, intentional choices.

The Five Questions (and Why They Matter)

1. How do I feel today?
Rested? Run down? Somewhere in between?

This question helps you pause and take stock before jumping into action. Some days you're energized—others, you're not. Recognizing where you are on that spectrum allows you to adjust your effort accordingly.

2. Did I train yesterday?
Do I need to recover or maintain momentum?

Looking back briefly helps you move forward wisely. If yesterday was intense, today might be best served by recovery. If yesterday was light or restful, today may be an opportunity to push a little more.

3. Did I eat well and hydrate today?
Fuel = energy. Be honest.

What we eat and drink directly affects our energy, focus, and endurance. This isn’t about guilt—just honesty. If you're low on fuel, you might scale things back or take a moment to top off before starting.

4. What’s my stress level right now?
Body and mind don’t always recover the same way.

Even if your body feels ready, emotional or mental stress can still weigh you down. Acknowledging this gives you the chance to choose a session that supports, rather than drains, your total well-being.

5. What kind of session will best support me today?
Push hard? Stay steady? Pull back a bit?

This is the summary question. It invites you to connect the dots and act with intention—not obligation. Training isn't about doing the most; it’s about doing what moves you forward in the big picture.

Bonus Questions (Optional but Powerful)

- One word for how I want to feel after this session:
This can set the tone and help shift your focus toward what matters. Common words? Clear. Capable. Calm. Proud. Strong.

- Is there something I need to let go of before I start?
Sometimes it’s a thought, a feeling, or a nagging task. Letting go—at least for now—can free you to be fully present in your session.

The Bigger Picture

These questions aren't meant to slow you down. They're here to keep you from running on autopilot. When we check in—honestly, compassionately—we can train smarter, feel better, and stay in the game longer.

You're not just showing up to do the thing. You're showing up to be in it.
