Body First Bike Fitting
Bike Fit & Movement Integration Session
At Grit City Health, our Body-First Bike Fit & Movement Integration sessions focus on your body before your bike. I don’t use standardized jigs or force your fit through equipment—my goal is to identify and address mobility, stability, and muscular imbalances that often limit cycling comfort, efficiency, and power. With 18+ years of movement and bodywork experience, I help cyclists and athletes ride stronger, smoother, and pain-free.
Why Bodywork Before Bike Adjustments Matters
Many cycling discomforts and performance issues stem from tight joints, muscular imbalances, and movement dysfunction. Adjusting the bike to a dysfunctional body is like moving furniture into a crooked house—it might work temporarily, but it doesn’t solve the problem.
By addressing your body first, we can:
Restore mobility and joint health for improved cycling posture
Improve stability and power transfer
Reduce discomfort, numbness, and injury risk
Create a more efficient, sustainable, and enjoyable ride
Most athletes notice dramatic improvements after 4–6 weeks of targeted bodywork, mobility, and strengthening before any equipment adjustments. This is far more effective than a weekend bike-fit class because it addresses why the body is compensating, not just accommodating the bike.
Who This Is For
Cyclists looking to ride comfortably and powerfully
Athletes dealing with pain, numbness, or inefficiency on the bike
Anyone wanting a movement-first, body-informed approach to their equipment setup
What I Do (and Don’t Do)
I don’t:
Use jigs, cameras, or rigid equipment measurements
Sell or stock bike parts like saddles, stems, or handlebars
I do:
Listen to your riding experience, goals, and concerns
Watch you ride and assess posture, motion, and potential root causes of discomfort
Combine in-clinic bodywork, mobility, and targeted movement exercises to restore function
Offer practical adjustments like stem changes or spacers when appropriate
Common issues I help resolve:
Numb fingers, hands, or feet
Tight neck, shoulders, or pec minor
Low back soreness, hip discomfort, or pelvic twists
Knee pain or inefficient pedal power
Reduced climbing power or fatigue
