Health & Performance Coaching

I have been coaching quite a few clients now and felt that this coaching page, while informative and accurate, didn’t convey what it is I do and can offer in the coaching realm.

So I made some recent edits to this page. Scroll below to find out what coaching at GCH consists of.

My GCH Coaching Philosophy

At Grit City Health, my coaching philosophy focuses on sustainable progress, individualized support, and smart pacing, helping clients build strength, resilience, and confidence in a way that fits their life.

Each plan is tailored to your needs and abilities, guiding you through structured phases of work and recovery while taking small, intentional steps toward your goals. Whether you are looking to improve fitness, prepare for an event, or simply move more confidently every day, I emphasize harmony between building endurance, strength, mobility, and recovery. This is to encourage curiosity, awareness, and adaptability so that every session supports your long-term growth and consistent progress.

How We Work Together

At Grit City Health, coaching is built around YOU! It is also built around flexibility, clarity, and support so I can meet you where you are. We combine in-person and phone sessions with structured guidance through digital platforms, using TrainingPeaks for endurance athletes, Trainerize for general fitness and habit-building, and even a paper calendar for those who prefer a simple 6-week plan to follow. Each plan is customized to your goals and lifestyle, helping you move, train, and build consistency with confidence while staying connected to your coach every step of the way.

”Patrick’s coaching style is patient, adaptive, and custom-tailored to my own personal goals (even as they evolve year after year). I could not recommend him enough to anyone from someone just trying to get off the couch to be more active to experienced athletes looking to compete at the highest levels.”

Your First Step – Exploratory Coaching Session

Not sure which coaching mode is the best fit for you right now? This 50-minute exploratory session is designed to help assess your goals, movement habits, and life rhythms so we can determine the coaching mode—or combination of modes—that will support you best.

During this session, we’ll explore:
✔️ Your current fitness level, lifestyle, and movement habits
✔️ What you’re hoping to improve—whether that’s building better routines, reducing stress, gaining strength, or preparing for an event
✔️ Which coaching mode (or mix) will align with your goals and life season

Looking for a One-Time Session Instead?

If you’re not ready to dive into a coaching program just yet, but still want expert insight, clarity, or a second set of eyes on your training—single coaching sessions are a great way to start.

These 50-minute sessions are designed to support you with focused, personalized guidance when you need it most. Whether you're preparing for a big event, adjusting your plan, using a training platform like TrainerRoad or Zwift, or just feeling a little stuck—they’re a no-pressure way to move forward with confidence.
